Discovery Education and the Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation invite you to enter the Healthy Playground Makeover Sweepstakes. It’s all part of Energy Balance 101 – a robust online resource for educators, nurses and health care professionals, and parents to help kids find the right balance between what they eat and how they move!
Anyone can enter to win on behalf of your school, so spread the word to your fellow teachers, parents and students today!
Join Us For Lunch On October 19
Michell Liegeios and her staff would like to offer serving a school lunch on October 19th at our PTA meeting at 6:45pm – in the CAFETERIA. They would like everyone to experience a school lunch. They will serve exactly what we have on the menu that day. It is BBQ chicken flatbread sandwich, green beans, mixed fruit with a choice of juice or milk. This will give us an idea of what our children are eating and how the process works. Brenda McPherson (head cook) will cook and Michell will talk about the new regulations that are coming in 2012 and what food they serve the students and how they are trying to do more home cooked meals. We need everyone to RSVP so they can get an accurate head count.

The Secret Pal Program is a new program designed to give us a fun way to let our teachers and staff know how much we appreciate all that they do every day to make our school the BEST! The PTA matches a volunteer with one of the staff members, including all of those very important behind-the-scenes people. You can request a specific staff member, or let us choose someone for you.

Join Us for the First PTA Meeting of 2011/2012
Please join us in the Elementary Library at 7:00PM for our first PTA meeting of the year! New members (and experienced) are encouraged to join us for the New Member Reception at 6:30PM. This is an excellent opportunity to ask questions and get to know each other!
